‘I Only Miss You When I’m Breathing’ is the latest single from Cork’s Dan Elliott. This power ballad
has seen Elliott compared to Lewis Capaldi, Dermot Kennedy and Sam Fender. The story of a break-up, ’I Only Miss You When I’m Breathing’ is a profound examination of love and how it’s sudden absence can leave one bereft. Based out of Dublin, this is Elliott’s fourth single and has been widely praised since it’s release. Over the last several years performing on the Dublin music scene, Dan has earned a reputation for his powerful voice, evocative lyrics and moving storytelling ability. Last year saw Elliott perform 4 headline Dublin shows and 2021 promises more of the same, both in Dublin and further afield. ‘I Only Miss You When I’m Breathing’ was recorded, mixed and mastered by Ben Cullum. Press photography by Zyanya Lorenzo.

Hailing from Cork, Dan Elliott has been performing on the Dublin music scene for the past 6 years, plying his trade in bars and clubs across the city. 2019 brought 3 Dublin headline shows and 3 independent single releases for, ahead of this, his latest single to drown out your lockdown woes.  Dan has earned a reputation for his powerful voice, evocative lyrics and moving storytelling ability. Influenced by Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer, Ed Sheeran and David Gray, Elliott is among the finest singer-songwriters currently emerging from the Irish music scene.

The first release since releasing his critically acclaimed debut album ‘All I’ve Seen‘ last year, Strange.24 sees Wickens progress once more as the songwriting juggernaut he has already proven himself to be. Combining slick production with raw feeling, Strange.24 showcases Sam’s vocal prowess and his ability to suck the listener into his musical universe.

Compared to Jeff Buckley, John Martyn, Death Cab For Cutie, Tom Waits, Sam is a soulful writer and performer with a restless creativity, conveying a personal blend of Electronic, Soul, Blues, Gospel, Folk and Indie. This young and gifted 20-something artist humbly plies his craft with a focused sincerity, and has created a style of his own: consistently delivering on his reputation as a bewitching live performer.

About his new single “Strange.24” Sam says “It’s a song about the acceptance of recovering from a battle with mental illness, The feeling of something changing within my life and trying to accept that it is actually happening. After fighting with mental illnesses for such a long time, the possibility of it leaving was a complete myth to me. Life without deep hopelessness seemed strange to me as I was accustomed to the black hole that was my normality. Just as you would need to get used to living in a new home, I had to get used to living as a person that was no longer mentally ill. This song was a therapeutic way to help me move on with my recovery.”

Sam will also be playing his first live show in over a year in The Workmans Club in Dublin on the 1st of April, 2021. Tickets are €14 and can be purchased here https://secure.tickets.ie/Listing/EventInformation/43365/sam-wickens-the-workmans-club-1-April-2021?fbclid=IwAR3ekdowtYDGyzZCgT2ikeBo-QafnpgqLnbG1DPlHPt2MwgYs0rNwk9ON3c

Fresh off his latest release “Better Than This,” Irish rapper Craig Cooney has teamed up with Irish producer and DJ Emmet Glascott to remix one of Craig’s recent releases, “Young Forever.” The result is an energetic, hard hitting dance track with hip-hop vocals and a driving, deep house sound.

Originally released in July, “Young Forever” was recorded in Windmill Lane Studios by engineer and producer Cormac Kavanagh.

The original song is a laid back, nostalgic track in which Craig reflects on childhood memories. He says, “I find a lot of people lose touch with their former selves and the memories that made us into who we are today. I wrote Young Forever about the best years of our lives when we were all carefree; I want people to press play on this song when they want to press pause on life and go on a trip down memory lane.”

Craig Cooney has been pursuing music professionally for the past three years and has multiple headline shows under his belt. His fifth ever show was in the Olympia Theatre supporting Gavin James. He has recently renewed his contract with Fluttertone and has multiple releases lined up. He is a unique artist who tells stories through his songs and has gained a popularity through his freestyling. His fan base grows stronger every day and he plans to continue changing the minds of people who think hip-hop is one dimensional.

Emmet Glascott is a producer and DJ with an eclectic musical style and influences. His releases have garnered local and international radio play, press attention, and Spotify traction. His recent single “Sorry” went to #1 on the Irish Charts. He has been signed to the No: 1 Irish DJ John Gibbon’s label BLINDsided, as well as Louise Dacosta’s label Decosta Records and Dutch label Wolfrage Recordings.

Three-piece Dublin-based indie-rock band Wild Tibetan Monks are set to release a reflective, guitar driven single, “Cartoons.” The song juxtaposes spacious, ambient verses with a full, defiant chorus’. The song creates a feeling of nostalgia, through wailing guitars and playing with tension and release.

Frontman Sean says, “The song is about going through life doing all the things you feel you should have done, things people or society tell us to do. Then you get there, and you wonder if it’s what you really want, if it’s really what’s gonna make you happy. We also explore the pressures of modern life, the tension that builds and then becoming unstuck.”

He goes on to say, “We wanted to create a feeling, not just through the lyrics, of longing to go back to a simpler time, of sitting with someone and watching cartoons.”

The song was recorded in Rada Studios when the band was living in Perth, Australia.

Wild Tibetan Monks are Sean (bass, vocals), Ringo (guitar), and Liam (drums). They met and banded in college in 2011 and performed together for several years, playing covers as well as original material. In 2018 the band traded Dublin for Perth, Australia for a two-year journey of music and exploration. The band toured around Western Australia, and had a varied lineup over the years, including different singers and a horn section. They also began recording their original music. The global pandemic caused them to cancel the single launch for their debut release “Liam,” and forced the band to move back to Ireland. They are now focused on recording and releasing their original material.
