Point Taken are a three piece Alt/Indie band from Limerick, Ireland. Jared Nadin (Vocals/Bass) Jacob Woulfe (Guitar/Bass) and Evan Berry (Drums) have been making music since 2019. Their debut EP “The Static Windup” was released in March 2020 just as the Pandemic arrived in Ireland.
They spent the following lockdowns developing a heavier tone as well as writing, recording, and
mixing their next project, due for release in 2021. Influences include Frank Carter, Silversun Pickups, and Dance Gavin Dance.

Their upcoming single “Lullaby for Leeches” marks the beginning of this heavier sound while trying to express the bands frustration towards the pandemic in Ireland and the impact it has had on the live events industry.

MASK- Get On Your Knees🎸

Belfast Blues Rockers MASK are kicking the doors in and raising the decibels with their new
single ‘Get On Your Knees’. Made up of ingredients of Martin Luther King, blistering drums, and
throttling fuzz guitars – this ferocious track is bound to be a contender for rock-stomper of the year.

Having suffered a loss in Belfast late last year, MASK leader H Humphrey decided to escape
civilisation and left for Peru. Feeling enlightened on his return, he approached producer Michael
Mormecha and asked if he could come in and make a new MASK record. Though his new
studio, Tree Song Studios, wasn’t finished and was little more than a building site, having learned
of H’s loss, he agreed and they set to work! ‘Get On Your Knees’, has an utterly unique feel as a
result, literally hanging microphones across wooden planks and makeshift ceilings, capturing a
sense of unequivocal power and rawness!

Leaning heavily on their blues-retro-rock tendencies, the new single is instantly comparable to the early sound of The Black Keys and The White Stripes to the more millennial-glam-rock feel of
stadium-act MUSE.

According to MASK, ‘Get On Your Knees’ is about awakening the beast that lies in all of us and
embracing our inner Viking!”

The rock duo are led by H Humphrey (guitar/vocals -from Belfast) along with lifelong
friend, Craig Coppock (guitar/vocals from Liverpool), combining to make up a band who are the
antithesis of your typical rock stars – they describe themselves as unapologetically un-cool BUT
always manage to release exciting music that breaks the mould of the everyday indie band.

Dirty Mike are an indie alt rock/punk trio from Glasgow Scotland and have recently released “Campus Queen”. It is a catchy indie rock/pop punk anthem reminiscing on a fun tale of a night when first coming of age and going out in Glasgow. Depicting the highs and excitement of the evening laced with the feeling of regret the morning after. A song much needed to remind us of better times while a lot of clubs have been shut for almost a year now in the UK.

Jack Devlin holds the attention of any crowd, with a magnetic stage presence and undeniable energetic talent. He is a young singer songwriter with dynamic original music played both acoustically and with a full band. Alongside regularly playing in bars across Ireland, Jack
headlines original gigs and spots at festivals, and accrues loyal and lively fans, often also supporting high class Irish and international acts, such as David Keenan and Hermitage Green. His music is reminiscent of Paolo Nutini, Jeff Buckley, Kings of Leon and Ben Howard among others; but with a raw, full voice that dips and soars, Jack creates an individually distinctive sound.
Influences from folk, rock and indie genres are intertwined with a low-fi twist on many original tracks, resulting in a varied and recognisably unique musical catalogue. Working with other local artists on their tracks, and founding the original music night ‘Evening Noise,’ Jack is
quickly becoming a respected influence within the musical community. Recently cherry picking some of the most gripping and addictive tracks from his catalogue of over 40 originalsongs, Jack has been working with producers Michael Mormeca and Phil Dalton to release his first EP in 2020.

‘Summer’
This song’s meaning is how life carries you through the years, how things within life evolve, drafting moments and memories from past summers and admiring the future in those moments of euphoria. Growing individually reflecting on moments of joy and even anxiety of the future as continues to evolve for us as individuals this song also has a feeling of relief and an uplift In darker times, knowing there’s always a better day ahead.

Recording Process
As I was writing this song, I was hanging out with my little brother and he was chatting in the background when I was recording the voice note. We listened back a few weeks later. I really liked the vibe it gave so I took some recordings of our conversation and put it into the song.
I am an avid Bike lover, so I suggested the idea of having a bike chain noise to add to the groove of the song Micheal took the idea and made some magic with it, it’s just subtle but I find it really cool, the ending of the song we actually made in the studio and it was a off the whim first take was cool to have that little bit of magic happen in the studio.

Three-piece Dublin-based indie-rock band Wild Tibetan Monks are set to release a reflective, guitar driven single, “Cartoons.” The song juxtaposes spacious, ambient verses with a full, defiant chorus’. The song creates a feeling of nostalgia, through wailing guitars and playing with tension and release.

Frontman Sean says, “The song is about going through life doing all the things you feel you should have done, things people or society tell us to do. Then you get there, and you wonder if it’s what you really want, if it’s really what’s gonna make you happy. We also explore the pressures of modern life, the tension that builds and then becoming unstuck.”

He goes on to say, “We wanted to create a feeling, not just through the lyrics, of longing to go back to a simpler time, of sitting with someone and watching cartoons.”

The song was recorded in Rada Studios when the band was living in Perth, Australia.

Wild Tibetan Monks are Sean (bass, vocals), Ringo (guitar), and Liam (drums). They met and banded in college in 2011 and performed together for several years, playing covers as well as original material. In 2018 the band traded Dublin for Perth, Australia for a two-year journey of music and exploration. The band toured around Western Australia, and had a varied lineup over the years, including different singers and a horn section. They also began recording their original music. The global pandemic caused them to cancel the single launch for their debut release “Liam,” and forced the band to move back to Ireland. They are now focused on recording and releasing their original material.

Rock Werchter🤘

This time two years ago, my best friend and I went to Rock Werchter (pronounced Vercher). Not many people know about this festival but it is one I would highly recommend. We went on the Sunday but if I were to go again I would go for the weekend🏕️ My friends brother had been there several times and goes every year but she had never been💃

Werchter is a small village in Belgium. A shuttle bus took us from Leuven and brought us to Werchter which was only 15 minutes away. So ideal! We spent the morning getting ready and prepping ourselves💅🎒🍋 We arrived around 12pm just in time for George Ezra (🤩). The weather was scorching ☀️ so we bought some coupons 🤙 which we required for beverages at a later stage🥤 and we were much excité 💯

At the festival, there were loads of great acts, including George Ezra, Post Malone, Sigrid, Kaleo, The Academic, Warbly Jets, Noel’s High Flying Birds 🎵 Arctic Monkeys were last to perform and there were fireworks. The whole day was amazing ⚡Festivals in Europe are much better than in Ireland 🎆 here was lots of other fun things to see there such as a bean bag area and ballpit. I would definitely go again🎵 By 12am we were covered in glitter and talking ráiméis to Flemish dudes.

I look forward to attending Rock Werchter again in the future 🤟🇧🇪
